Wellcome Trust CTO James Thomas will be the keynote speaker for the May Horizon CIO Network roundtable debate in London.
Thomas has been CTO for the world recognised medical research charity since March 2016 having joined the Euston Road, London headquartered organisation from a year with technology services provider Atos. Thomas, was CIO of the University College Hospital London Hospitals (UCLH). During his eight year career with UCLH Thomas won plaudits for his transformative way of working with suppliers ensuring the major London NHS trust delivered major change programmes. Thomas was also recognised for being highly patient centric and for introducing technology that improved the experience of those being treated.
The second Horizon CIO Network debate of 2019, hosted by CIO Editor Mark Chillingworth will discuss increasing performance at low risk and include an analysis and interview on how container and microservice technologies enable business agility.
This roundtable debate will discuss and investigate how microservices and containerisation technology can enable organisations to increase performance and not increase the cost of the IT estate.
Attendees will debate how microservices and container technologies enable an increase in business performance and provide the ability to move to continuous delivery methods. As businesses look for an ability to respond to rapidly changing consumer trends or market conditions this debate will analyse how to remain competitive, experimental, but with reduced risk and little need for major capex investment.
